Grants On May 31 of each year, the United Methodist Foundation of Western Pennsylvania awards a limited number of grants to churches or agencies of the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference. Through these awards of grant dollars and Foundation staff time, we seek to enhance and expand the ministries of Conference churches and agencies. The ultimate goal is to provide sufficient counsel such that these ministries become self-sustaining. United Methodist Foundation of Western Pennsylvania grants are made only for programs and activities — including operating expenses and supplies necessary for those programs or activities. (Please note that grants are not made for building repair, replacement, or expansion through the Foundation.) The maximum amount of each grant is $5,000, and applications are due to the Foundation offices by April 30 of each calendar year.
