Federal Mileage Reimbursement Rates

These rates have generally been adjusted yearly, but a mid-year adjustment has been made in 2011 resulting from increases in the price of fuel over the first half of the year.

  • 51 cents per mile for business miles driven
  • 19 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
  • 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations

Beginning on July 1, 2011 the revised standard rates are:

  • 55.5 cents per mile for business miles driven
  • 23.5 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
  • 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
