Paul Sylves joined the Foundation as a Field Staff Representative in 2006.
A lifelong United Methodist, Paul grew up in the Swissvale UMC. Following his undergraduate years at Slippery Rock University, Paul became a classroom teacher and later served as assistant principal in the Butler Area School District. After retiring in 1999, he taught at Seton Hill University and the Frick Art and Historical Center. He continues as a teacher at the Frick and enjoys the variety of learners who come to that location in Point Breeze.
Paul and his wife Jane have lived in Butler for 41 years and have two daughters and two granddaughters. He enjoys fishing, photography, and woodworking in his spare time.
